Chinese Government funds Zibo Vocational Institute. The university is approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. In 2007, the Ministry of Education recognized the Institute as one of the 100 national demonstration vocational schools and colleges.
Zibo Vocational Institute was founded in 1956 as Zibo Commercial College. In 2002 was transformed into Zibo Science and Technology Institute. And in 2009 Zibo Science and Technology Institute and Shandong Industry and Arts College have merged into Zibo Vocational Institute. Since 2007 became known as National Demonstration Vocational College.
